I have no experience with that place, but I've heard of others getting hotel rooms in Truckee and driving to Axialfest each day. I'd recommend trying to rent an RV and staying at the axialfest campground. Part of the experience is the mingling and camaraderie, but I also understand that you're coming from out of town and the logistics might be too much to deal with. As far as what's needed for Axialfest: You need rigs and batteries and chargers. Tools and spare parts highly recommended, but there is always helpful people willing to lend whatever to help everyone finish. Also, make sure you have plans for meals. There isn't much for meal options around Cisco grove. You need to bring all your meals, snacks, and water. You'll want water and snacks while running the g6. With it being held in July this year, expect temps close to 90*. Last edited by Skeeno; 03-01-2015 at 09:48 PM. |

Skeeno's pretty much got the bases covered. I'm not into camping hunted down a motel room in Truckee over $100 a night but worth it to me. Next yr might rent an RV & make it a week. Temps can dip into the 30's at night and mountain thunder showers in the afternoons are not uncommon so be prepared. Reno holds the world record for daily temp variations. Put sun block & bug spray on your list. They usually include a pretty good list of recommended things to bring in the registration info.

This isn't super important, but what exactly constitutes an "Axial based" vehicle? I have a 6x6 I am building that has only the transmission from Axial... I am curious to know if I should set myself a deadline or just continue building it in my free time... Also, are there any scale accessory requirements like in years past? |

From my understanding I believe you need the axial axles but you could wait for someone else to chime in

I really don't think anyone sporting any Axial major parts will be turned down. I've been 2 time and never saw a tech inspection

| Re: axialfest info They are based on axial axles and designed as upgrade parts specifically for axial trucks. You are most likely running an axial chassis and transmission also. If it is a tube chassis custom rig.......... I bet you are using an axial skid plate |

Damn, y'all are making me want to drive 6,000 round trip at the age of 16 (in a falling apart BMW that shouldn't technically be street legal ) all the way to Cisco Grove to be at Axialfest.... I'll be there in 2018 hopefully. But you can bet your left nut that I'll be there eventually...

| Re: axialfest info If I knew any kids my age in my area in the RC hobby... I trail with guys old enough to be my father or even grandfather in some cases I'll probably go solo though, more room for the RC gear. Not much room in a ratty old '00 528i...

I might as well just rent a few coach busses, we have like 160 guys in my group, and I'm sure they all want to go... I'll probably pick a few guys to hit the road (and the trails in Cisco Grove ) and head up if I'm free. Might see y'all there
