Default Axialfest 2015 Tech Inspection Experience

This year vehicles participating in Axialfest events were supposed to pass through "Tech Inspection". Did everyone pass? Did anyone fail? What was your experience? Please share.

They just checked to make sure they were Axial based rigs. Took 20 seconds.

I handed my rig to the guy and he started to grab it by the body. I told him the body was velcroed on and to hold it by the frame. He said I had to fix that. I was totally bummed because I really wanted a non-body post showing body

Then my servo started making its usual noise and he said it was too loud for the trail. It was at this time I then realized he was completely joking and just having fun . I asked what the proper dB limit was

He also said my body was too clean

He gave my dad some grief as well about his driver not wearing an appropriate harness :P

We figured they were just making sure they had an Axial frame or axles

The look Heidi got when she set the twin hammers scx10 rig on the table. Took a minute for the guy to look the running gear over.

The tech inspection was mostly a quick comedy stint, guy told me my rig was overweight, body work was dinged up, and my scale dog didn't have a license but he'd give me a pass anyway. Ha ha axial! Keep yuking it up!

Sounds like we all had similar experiences. I put mine on the table the guy picked it up turned it around looked all over and goes "where do I begin, this rig is too heavy, the axles are not axial and the scale gas can isn't properly strapped in" that's when I realized it was a joke. But until then I was worried because it's a scale shop chassis with vp axles and a tamiya clod body. Bunch of pranksters!

Tech told my dad that he needed battery straps that went to the frame, for the scale Proline batteries...

I was told that my NOS bottle wouldn't pass emissions regulations, but then I flipped on my police lights and he said it would pass...

It was all just good fun!
