I recently did the overdrive on my front end and it made a pretty big difference in my turning radius.

Not to mention in vertical climbs or sidehilling. I was referring to his motor pinion..20t down to a 16-18t. Im currently running a 80t/18t with a HH 23t motor. Normal trailing speed its fine, but when i need to slow crawl,it heats up if im not careful. This G6 is gonna be ALOT of crawling thru some pretty knarly 1:1 trails..very little need for fast rpm's this year.

This is my first event too. I think I'm well covered on batteries as far as my SCXs go. I have a pair of 2200s and a pair of 2450s for the power wagon. I may have to swap the Honcho to 3s if the wife decides to drive though. I only have one 2s pack and its a 4000mah.

So if I put a set of underdrive gears in my front end I should be OK! I'll pick up three sets at my local shop and throw them. Still excited about going. Tonight I'm starting to build my styrene banjo scale Ned beaty item.

You would want underdrive in the rear. The rear tires turning slower than the front makes the front drag the rear a little, which makes it turn a little sharper and while climbing steep hills/rocks it helps keep the front end down. Putting underdrive in (only) the front would do the opposite. Putting overdrive in the front and underdrive in the rear exaggerates the effects but it is harder on your drivetrain. I'm running underdrives in the rear of my Power Wagon and it made a noticeable difference in turning and climbing. Eventually I will probably do the same on the Wraith. |

I ment to say over drive in the front sorry for the mis print my fault. I am not making a drifter lol. My back bord is looking good and my banjo is coming along. If you don't mind me asking what your scale items are so I can keep mine in line for the intent of the event!

I'm not sure about scale items...I have a clown item in the mail but that is probably the only thing that I will do. I'm thinking about making a few smaller items like an axe, shovel, etc out of styrene, but I'm not sure that I will have time. I have some work to do on the camper and RZR before the trip and I'm trying to avoid spending any more $$ for now unless it is something that I need so I wont be buying anything premade.

I just picked up a Dinosaur safari action kit at WalMart and it has a bunch of scale items in it. I'll get what I need and bring the rest if somebody needs some of the 5 "search and rescue" items

For the folks like me who dont usually pack a bunch of scale accessories on your rigs I found a good option for this. I stopped at Wal Mart today and grabbed a cheap little "action figure play set". They had a few different sets to choose from. The one I got had 7 guns, a couple walkie talkies, a flashlight, some handcuffs, a laptop, and a few other odds and ends along with a motorcycle and several action figures. It was only $5. One of the other sets was mostly guns. They also had a dinosaur set but it didnt have as much scale stuff. My costume will be here tomorrow. |

The Dino one was the one I picked up. I got a pick axe, shovel, binoculars out of it but it has some machetes and some backpacks in it. What costume are you wearing?
