I would really try to take any spares that you may need but take cash too. The vendors may have some cool things that you want, but not necessarily what you need to get back on the trail. I broke 2 Axial CV pins and while I had spares, no vendors had any axles of any kind so if I had needed them I would have been SOL. They did have a bunch of LED light bars and other cool things that I ended up buying though.

also people will have parts you could buy off them like my buddy burnt up a servo on the trails and bought a new one for one of the people there for the event

Some events will have more local vendors than others. But most of the time, the folks on trail will help you get back to pits and/or help you with the parts you need for repair. Gotta love the G6 trail family! |

Just to wrap up this thread with some closure. The dingo made it through without any breakages. The mostly stock deadbolt, not so much. Some total of broken parts, one rod end, one knuckle and c hub, one BEC and the killer 20 gates shy of the end one plastic idler gear. I also ended u donating a spur gear and a winch line to the cause. So overall the suggestions where great and helped me out. About half the stuff I took I was happy to have, but will leave a g central or the car. Sand ramps. Well I didn't bring any nor did I see others use them. Most of the time we pushed or winched over. More than a few times I wished I had them. So the difference between the dingo making it and the dead bolt(both 35t/3s) was a 7 year old driving through things instead of navigating over them. I wish I had a transmitter with more adjustment for the deadbolt, my son had some slow speed control issues. |
