| !/10th scale jeep wrangler body?
Who makes a jeep wrangler body? Or where can I get a jeep wrangler body for this RS10? Anything out there....??? The cheaper the better. I'll customize it once I get it anyways. so lexan or full scale composite plastic is fine. I wanna do it up like my jeep TJ. (2 door of course) I'm not against buying something from the toy store just to have the body. Kids can bash the chassis. I have a Nikko jeep the kids run but until the RS 10 shows up I don't know if it will fit. So I'd like to look @ a few things and get prices and styles so I can see what I'm up against. I'm hoping the nikko will be to scale as it's tuff composite and will allow me to add on and take away plastic, to get that crawler look. Thanks Rich |

I'm sure there are more wrangler bodies floating around...but here's a link to one: http://www.tcscrawlers.com/HPI-Jeep-...2-p-16259.html I recommend checking out the scaler forums on here and you should find plenty of sources for both lexan and hardbodied wranglers. Good luck! |

the tamiya is probably what I'll go with if I can find one. I have three "toy" RC jeeps for the kids and just got my RS10 today. None of them will fit. To small. even my nikko won't work. well they all will but it looks really goofy with a tiny tiney body on it. later Rich |

my buddy has the hpi rubicon? body. he mounted and ran for a short time. too much rub. now he has a flat bed style ax body. he uses the rubicon body to cover it in the house. it did/does look really cool though.

How would you mod. this to fit? streach the body? or what... it's a 1/10 new bright body. I'm probably gonna take it back to the LHS tomorrow since it doesn't line up. anythoughts? I could strech it. but it's alot of wok and no mateeter how I look @ it it's gonna cost me articulation. I need a lexan body. Even after shaving the rubicon new bright I think it will look good BUT SUCK @ZZ in the real world test. later Rich I'm not afraid of the work but I'm losing alot of clearance.... Any sugestions? later Rich Last edited by armalite_ar50; 02-03-2010 at 12:25 AM. |

Are you trying to make it into a scaler? The only way I know of to make the wheels line up to the wheel wells of the body is to shorten the upper and lower links on the crawler, but that could get rid of some of your articulation. Even if you got a lexan body they might not line up correctly and you'd have to do the same mod if that's what you're looking for.

I think I'm gonna cut and extend the tub. which will take some time and I'll have to extend the roll cage. and plastic weld the body back together. maybe use brake line for a new roll cage? I think this would be easier to work with than lexan since it's thicker. later Rich |

Here's the HPI Jeep Wrangler body next to a RS-10. Its big but it would be a great scaler. The Jeep body will work perfectly with my TXT-1. Look at the picture and decide if you like it or not. This would have been helpful when I was looking for bodies I just had to take a shot in the dark. I will of course post up pictures once I have it painted and mounted. I am currently working on a TOP SECRET project that I will post pictures of also. Things to note about the HPI Jeep body. The Stock RS-10 body posts are WAY too short, prepair to make some or spend some time shopping. . Hope this helps... |

GREAT...! Now I just gotta figure out what to do with the fake winch. I looked @ them but didn't want to spend the 40 bux to see if it fit. looks good and looks like it will fit. I'd like to scale, but the only crawler I have is this RS 10. and I figure if I do go scale it will be 1/6 ( I collect 12 in JOE's) and already have a 1/6 jeep and a sand rail. And over 500 12 inch figures. I think I'll get that HPI body, it looks wicked over the stock RS10 body. THANK YOU, a million. later Rich |

buy an scx-10, a red-cat is NOT a scaler but I suppose the body will fit, but if you really want a scaler buy a scaler, if you want a crawler buy a crawler like an RS-10 I just dont get why people buy such a MOA like crawler and want to make it scale when for a lil bit more money you could have an scx-10 or similar, go to ebay and buy used, or hit up the adds here!! well good luck and BTW the tamiya jeep body is super small, like 9 inch WB, as well as the Nikko and newbrights, there is one newbright body that would work and thats the 12.5 WB 1/8 JK unlimited hard body!! like this one! |
