3600 mah has nothing to do with the power just the run time. More volts= more power IE 7.4 volt lipo vs 11.1 volt lipo.

i agree with GreMonte. you would get a slight increase in power with a higher mah pack. more mah will supply longer run times mostly. to get more pop, your best bet would be to go lipo. cheap lipos can be found. i run a turnegy 3 cell high discharge 1000mah i picked up for 23 bucks.giving me roughly an hour and a half of run time. others can be found for cheaper. its a very punchy battery for the money and size. i just use a simple balanced charger for it.

on a side note i do the same thing. when i get to work i hit the auto pilot and plot out builds, how things got to go and so on. your not the only one. sounds bad. after the little one goes off to bed, i pull out my projects and plug away. wife is off to work and i cant sit and watch tv all night. heck after all this time, my wife finally accepts my rc's as a hobby and not toys. we are all little kids at heart in this hobby.

And that big ol' nimh weighs a LOT more than a 1000ish mah 2-3s lipo. If the weight is in the belly of the truck then that's extra weight it has to haul around. I've run with the theory that weight on the front axle helps traction for climbing but weight in the belly is part of the load to haul up the hill.

well you can get hi output 3800 thats what im runing and it was my old comp batt for my stadium truck and it gives it a quite a bit better performance but if you really wanna jump start it i would go lipo but watch your volts if you do unless you are using a esc with lipo cutoff built in.

Not to hijack this thread, but when looking at lipos would any 2S1P lipos work? I know I need to go with a 2S, but what does the 1P mean and can the number before the "P" vary? I'm a newb when it comes to lipos and thik I'm right but wanted to ask just in case.

Look around in the electronics forum, there are lots of Lipo newbie threads that are stocked with good information.

2s1p is the configuration of the battery pack. The s is the number of cells in series and this determines your pack voltage. 1s-3.7v, 2s-7.4v, 3s-11.1v, etc. The p tells you how many cells are wired in parallel to increase the packs capacity.

I.e.- you have 4 1000mah cells, if you wire them 2s1p you could make two 7.4v 1000mah packs. If you wire them 2s2p you would have enough cells to make one 7.4v 2000mah pack. You could do 3s1p and have an 11.1v 1000mah pack and a spare cell or you could do 4s1p and have a 14.8v 1000mah pack.

I'm running a 3s 3900mah lipo for bashing and a 3s 30c 1300mah for comps.

Hope that helps.
