Tires?!

ok so i can tell that i need new tires from what everyone was saying!! lol can anyone suggest some that are taller than stock and will fit on the stock rims?
anyone have a set that they love? and want to recommend?

Any 2.2 sized tire will fit on the stock wheels. A lot of the comp tires are taller than the stock tires also...such as the HB rovers and the panther leopards. Asking for advice on tires...you'll basically get the same answers that appear in hundreds of threads on here. It's all opinionated on which tire is the best and you'll have people who are loyal to certain tires. With that said, you can't really go wrong with sedonas, rovers, leopards, cougars, rock claws, etc... Any of those will be way better than the stock tires...just pick the ones you like the look of, or poke around in the wheel/tire section of the forum to find out what people have to say about each of the tires.

edit: forgot to mention I'm a fan of the HB rovers

I'm currently using some HB rovers. I want to sipe them but i want to have some money space just incase i mess up first. but i'm looking at the rc4wd x-locks.

I run a set of white rovers and a set of panther leopards. I like the rovers for a general tire and the panthers have a lot of bite as well but really it is just personal preference. "thumbsup"

i lke my rovers made a huge difference on the rocks plus they are 5.5 inches tall and i put in the oversized memory foam got no complaints at all but thats just my opinion

Ive got a set of rock lizards on mine right now. However ill be changin out to rock claw's. Also like panther cougars... any 2.2 tire will work with ur stock wheel

i run white siped rovers and panther leopards. both work really well. i have just siped my panthers as well as removing the side lugs. have yet to test them like that though. there is alot of good tires out these days. its more of if you want to run 5'' or 5.5'' tires.

Depending on your terrian. I would go with Sedonas, Rovers, Loepards , Grabbers or Chisels. They are all over 5" tall. I personally like my HPI Grabbers the best. Leopards are a close 2nd . If you want bang for your buck , go with siped Rovers.

It's when you cut small slits in the tire lugs, without cutting through the tire. Here's some info:

Another thing to keep in mind...if you buy tires and don't like the feel of them, you can always change up the foam setup to get different feels.

I like the HB Rovers myself. White Dot.

dudegetabike 06-04-2010 11:25 AM

I got the White Rovers too. Big improvement over stock and when you over stuff they are way taller. They work really well on CLEAN rough rock. Dusty stuff is not their strong area. I got some ridge line tires that came off a creeper kit too. They bite really well, but they are a tiny bit smaller than stockers and the goofy proprietary bead lock setup they have doesn't work well with regular rims so I ended up losing the bead alot. I want to try something like a flat iron or rc4wd rock crusher. Something with more rubber to put on the ground like the 1.1 rigs have. Any thoughts on these?

A friend of mine runs them on his creeper and they work really well. They're a hair under 5'' tall so they're not as tall as rovers, but they're nice tires.
