i run 45t, with soon to be 10tooth pinions as soon as i put them in. i also ran 16tooth and crazy fast. you want a rock racer this is the way to go. had the same stall as my 390 12volt banebots. did 8 tooth as well, and no stall at all on any incline. feathering the throttle slightly was the only time it stalled. going the tens cause i want a little stall. i believe the smallest metric pinion is 12t by Robinson racing. berg pinions will work as well. more of a variety of sizes.

yup i know. i ordered some 10t for mine from zno. if he chose to go with a higher turn motor, additional gearing for the pinion would be needed for some decent wheelspeed. a 12t from robinson racing and up, or if an 11t is needed a berg one will work. regular 48p will work, but it will be noisy and wear out your gears or break them much sooner. if the 8t is needed i highly recommend getting bored ones from zno. not much room for error. when its time for new motors im going with a higher turn, and gear it up a tad for a a little more run times. personally having metric pinions may have be some what of a pain due to limited number of pinions compared to others, but i think the larger teeth are helping greatly to the durability under more power for plastic.
