The title say's it all. What can the 4th channel on a Lansu ls-103-r receiver be used for ? I am using two Rs10 to build a 8x8.

I'm 95% sure the 4th channel is simply straight power, rather than providing an actual signal. It could be used to power a controller for lights.

could it be used for another esc ? Or would using two receiver with the same cyrstal work better ?

I'm useing two rs10's to build a 8x8. Each axle as I'm sure you know has it's own motor and I'm trying to find out how to control and power all of them. I'm trying to use as much of the stock parts as posible as I'm like most of america right now, broke. lol"thumbsup"

well, for that you could do it with one radio and two ESC. one ESC for the front and one for the rear and a battery for each. you should be able to combine the leads to the radio with a y-adapter. the only issue i can fore see is the steering, making it functional is easy enough, a couple more y-adapters, but you may find that you have run it in 4 wheel steer full time...interested to see what you come up with.

My plan was to lock out the rear stearing on the back two axles and olny use the front. But it would have to be 4 whell stear all the time . I just did a mock up with em and man this thing is gonna be long. I plan on making a youtube video on how I did it I will pm you when I do.

If your not going to make it 8ws, try making the front and rear axles steerable and lock out the middle two.

with all 8 wheels driving, you will have to have at least three axles steering, might as well make it all 4.
