| Shock Rebuild?
Picked up my Redcat a few weeks back. My first crawler. (first r/c in geneal) I love it so far. Completly stock for now other than an F-150 body. My shocks are starting to droop pretty bad. I bought some 30w shock oil. I cant figure out how to get the shock apart to refill them. I can easily get the bottom cap off. I was told at my local hobby shop to fill them from the top. Anyone have a tip on how to get the top cap off?

Grip the body with a pair of pliers and turn the top cap off with another. Be careful re-assembling them as the threads are fragille.

The top cap shouldn't be torqued enough to need pliers or any tools to take it off. Remove the external spring if you haven't already, grip the shock body with one hand, and if you can't remove the top cap by hand put a screwdriver or hex wrench into the mounting hole of the top cap and use that to twist the cap off. That way you don't damage the shock by holding it with pliers, since it's a plastic shock body.
