I broke something. Haven`t seen this yet!!!

I just got my zno diff plates today. When I tore down the axles, I found this. The threaded pins, holding the diff cups onto the shaft, had sheared off just below the threads. Both sides. I was able to unscrew the threaded portion. But the unthreaded portion still had just enough lip left that they wouldn`t slide out. I had to hammer them out with some difficulty. I think with the amount of power I`m working into this thing, I`m going to have to work out a stronger option.

Yep! just went through that myself. I pressed a pin in mine. I have an assortment at work so it worked out well for a fix.

I like the idea of threading it all the way through. I'd like to get as much slop out of the drive line as I can. I get enough just from the dogbone system. The more surface contact on that pin, the stronger, and the better!

I'm chasing some slipping somwhere in that axle still. spur pin and plate are perfect. Pinion gear is holding and meshed. I Can't have stripped these METAL gears, can I? Find out in an hour or so.

Well then;
I REGRET TO INFORM YOU THAT YOU NEED A NEW ESC!!! :lmao:

Last night I let the magic SMOKE out. I was chasing down the slipping in my front axle. So I had a 2s lipo plugged into it, while the axle was apart, so I could check the gears. All of a sudden, the esc smoked, and throttle went full, until I unplugged the battery. Now it happens everytime the battery is plugged in.

Lol I'm in on esc taking a dump. Got my Redcat completly back together tonight and the escape cuts off randomly. Takes a good whack to get it to start again.

What esc's are you running? I'm looking through stats right now. How is your slow-speed-throttle curve? I think thats going to decide how much $$$ I'm dropping on speed controls

I put a outcry dual esc on my gmade buggy n it worked great for the 3 minutes it ran lol. I just picked up another one from a member in the classifieds for 40 bucks to put in my Redcat.
