| Strange stock motor differences?
I grabbed up a couple sets of stock motors in the classifieds on here for cheap, in case mine take a crap. With the 3S, they are plenty powerful for me. Strange thing is, I just noticed some of them are a LOT shorter than the others. I noticed because they were laying beside the banebots that I broke, and I was thinking that I didn't remember the banes being that much longer than the stockers. So I grabbed my truck, and sure enough the ones in the truck are the exact length as the banes. These are like 1/4 inch shorter. So the question being...what did these short motors come from? Are they from an early model RS? or maybe a newer one? The 1/8 scale super crawler uses 540s doesn't it?? The short ones will clear the links a LOT better, and if they make the same power they would be perfect for me! I will be bolting them in to try them out this week. Ya i would love some shorties for clearance. It does not hit it all the time but i took off 1 wire from each motor. But that just ment i got to play with my tools...i mean use my tools.

never noticed that, i can tell you, judging by the sticker, i had the stock shorties. the clearance is not that great, with the stock chassis, i still tore wires off.

That one is easy. The original RS10 came with 380 can motors (on the bottom in your pic). The current RS10-XT comes with 390 can motors (on the top in your pic). Those motors have more torque than the originals, but also offer less clearance. Thanks!
