| Problem with rear axle
Hey guys, got a rockslide and love it. Only thing is I've noticed that the back wheels are harder to turn(Not steering...fwd and rev) than the front. I have to use a lot more force to get them to move almost like something is too tight. There is no binding on the rims to knuckles etc its somewhere in the diff. HAs anyone else had a similar experience? If so what was your fix? Thanks Newfie |

take it apart and see if something is broken or binding. learning to work on your 10 is half the fun.

Check to see if the set screw for the dog bone cups has backed out. Or the spur gear screws.

I actually found out it was the rear motor. These things can't take much punishment!! Only used it in to house cause its winter still here. I'm really impressed with it, maybe more when i get some mods done and perhaps some new motors. BTW My fix for the pins coming lose on the dog bones.....Roll Pins! Knock the old pin out and tap the roll pin in, use dremel and cut to size. small screwdriver and expand the ends a little. They will never come out again unless u want them too!! GL all thanks for the replys!

Yep my motors have run strong for the past year, and still are. But I drive carefully (as in always stopping before going from forward to reverse, ect...)

Would it hurt anything to cover the motor holes with aluminum tape to keep rocks/sand/water out? Also I was thinking of using marine grease to plug up the smaller holes on the end bell but I don't know whether it is electrically conductive and would require keeping the + and - grease separate. | |
