| Re: Short obstacle course footage. Yes i am surprised at how much of a difference the new chassis has made over stock this chassis cost me about $10 to make makes you wonder why the manufacturers dont stick to this proven design. One question i do have though maybe a little nooby, my modded RS10 is not too far away from being able to negotiate verticle climbs, what would an RS10 need to be able to do to be not necesarily a winner but be able to compete in competitions?

No rear steer, decent cog, and dig. I am not sure what the length requirement is, but you look a little on the long side in the video. Last edited by Overkel; 05-31-2014 at 05:01 PM. |

I found dig per se is highly over rated. It's stall that is the culprit and punk dig would not cure that...all or nothing dig has not proven useful to me. The real answer is proportional speed control to each axle then you can modulate on the fly. The only time I go 100% dig on the rear is descending or when I want to pivot by dragging the front around. When I ascend I find that power to the rear is essential. You would need a different RX TX and a pair of ESCs to set that up. MOA without dual ESCs is not going to do the job if you want to be able to do everything you see comp MOA rigs doing. Steering angle will be the real road block I think. I never acheived a real increase in steering angle with the RS10 axles. If you can you will be amazed at what you can do on the rocks. I got to drive a comp AX10 shafty with modded universals, Wraith knuckles, 8 degree c hubs and Zero Ackerman steering arms and I never once thought "I need dig" because the rig could steer and you could do things with the front tires that are hard to explain. This of course requires a monster of a servo. Last edited by MountainStorm; 06-03-2014 at 10:42 AM. |
