Default Gen7 scale accessories painted up

I hate the unrealistic accessories... time to do some weathering and try to add some realism.

Wow. They look great. You've certainly got an artistic touch for weathering that I never could quite achieve. Reminds me of my childhood and trying to weather model railroad buildings, engines and train cars.

Thanks guys! Used yellow spray paint (had some Tamiya paint lying around) for the handles. Then some brown acrylic paint for dirt/base rust. Apply with brush, then wipe off with paper towel.. leaves behind a “dirty” effect.

If paint doesn’t stick to this plastic, I use a clear, matte finish to act as a primer... plus it makes all the parts less shiny, too.

I have some tamiya weathering kits ( they look like make-up compacts) that help me with dirt/rusty look.

Then there are some kits that will give extremely realistic rust effects. I have one called rust-all.

Once done, I apply one more matte clear coat for durability.

I learned by watching YouTube videos on weathering models and painting nerf guns!

It’s a lot of fun and usually you can’t mess it up!
