I had a few issues as well, but Redcat took great care of me and I was able to order!

I know this was a "pre-order", but how are you guys ordering them? The $1,000 price tag on Redcat's page is laughable, but I'd still be down for a set if the actual selling price is reasonable. Do I need a "promo code", and if so, does one of you have a code that you aren't planning on using?

My son broke a c-hub so we put aluminum ones on, then he wanted more steering so we put high steer knuckles and cv axles, then the end of the axle housing broke off on the very first run with his new steering parts for no apparent reason. His big brother is currently putting a set of Yota 2 axles under his Redcat, so we have the parts available to get the Gen7 back in action, but with a Trx4 Sport sitting on the shelf next to it (as of Saturday) I'd really like to try some portals on another one of our cars.

$1000 for two axles lol the vs4-10 looks good and you get more than just axles.

Figured at most 200-300 for them.

Yes they sent people that got on the pre-order list a promo code for $70.
If you got one it's good until 8/1.
I'd assume after that they will accept more beta tester applicants until they get the 250 beta sets out.

The 250 participants that signed up for the testing received a coupon for a $930 discount. They have done some extensive testing and have released some of the results to us so I'm very excited to test these axles!

LOL, they'll be $100 once they're available. Right now the $1k price tag is just so that people don't scoop up the beta units. Those of us that signed up back in January are getting them for $70.

I'm anxious to test them. Hopefully they prove to be durable. From the pictures, those gears in the front portals look awfully tiny.

That's sound a bit more reasonable

$70 gets you what? One housing? Two housings? Or?

$100 gets you a complete retrofit kit that includes 2 portal axles, chassis mount servo conversion mount, steering & panhard linkages, and shock relocation mounts.

If it's a well engineered kit that works well and is reliable, then it should be a fantastic bargain.

The only worry I would have is if it actually steers without a 10ft turn radius.

If I remember correctly it's supposed to be more than the high steering kit offers

From the original post max steering angle is 50 degrees

As far as steering goes, it should be very similar to the TRX steering angles, I believe.

50 degrees would be fantastic. The current setup, even with CV axles, is limited to around 35 degrees before they bind.

My only concerns right now are reliability and long term parts availability.

I'm with ya on the parts availability, hopefully they will take good care of the beta testers if they end up making changes or we need parts.

Wow this is awesome! I sure would love to test them out, I just did a youtube video comparing my new trx 4 sport to my gen 7 up in the mountains and my modded gen 7 did pretty good but it did get stuck in some spots that the TRX 4 did not. If you want to see this video search Shen Rc on youtube.

This is awesome I like that redcat is actually making parts and stuff to improve the gen 7! The axles on the gen 7 was the only thing I did not like... awesome redcat for improving your products!

I think I will make a video for my RC youtube channel showing this page and the photos so maybe I can help get redcat more exposure and make them sell more axle kits!

I'm not sure why Redcat chose to use social media to market these things. Very odd.

The $1000 price tag on the website is clearly a place holder until these things are approved? They list as "in stock"?
