Default Hello

I also found out the clamping style wheel hexes I got are essentially garbage as well. They look nice, but the tiny screws strip before they provide any measurable clamping force so I went back to the stock redcat aluminum pieces with a mod to get their grub on. There is 0 wobble now between the hex and the stub axle.

The stock plastic ones were fine actually, but I read of others stripping them so that upgrade was more preventative than necessary. They just wobbled on the axle and I didn’t like it.

I took the stock diffs apart and filled the voids with jb weld for now. Also greased the ring and pinion since they were dry. Beyond that, I’m considering full replacement of the entire assemblies with aluminum. Steel driveshafts, aluminum trans case and steel gears.
That’s mostly why I’m still running nimh packs or 2s at the most.

After replacing the broken lower link rod end I saw they were all rubbing on the skid from the angle of moving them inboard so RC4WD helped out with some new bent pieces.

The draglink was also hitting the pumpkins at full lock after grinding off the knuckle stops so some offset ends took care of that as well.

The heap seems to be working fairly well.

We’ll see if it’s better or worse after the mail runs today.

Some parts for an upcoming project.
For giggles I stretched a 1.9 tire onto the 2.2 wheel and it failed miserably.

And then this roll bar showed up and made it better.

Yeah, that’s not gonna work.

Thought I would be a little different from the Jeeps,Rovers, etc and took a chance on an hsp Hummer shell knowing only the overall length.
As it turns out it would need about a 10.5 inch wheel base and probably 1.55 wheels and tires, not to mention all the suspension and driveline work to shorten everything, so it goes on the shelf for another day and another project.

Moved this to a new thread in large scale.
This won’t be a rebodied redcat Everest 10.
My gf just got the e10. She watched me unbox the hummer and said “that thing needs to be tricked out.”
She has no idea what she just said, lol.
