| Already having trouble out of my sons Gen7. What could ut be?
Ok. We got 2 gen7 pro rigs 3 days ago. The first day my sons battery dies almost 1 hour before mine dies. His esc and battery were very warm. I chalked this up to his throttle control. LOL. Day 2 we had been on the trail about 30 minutes and his truck stops responding to the controller. We turn it off and back on, this fixes it and works fine. Then again his battery died way before mine. The battery and esc were hot again. Even though he did not run it near as hard as I did mine. Then today about 45 minutes into our trail run, his truck just starts going on its own. Had to turn down throttle trim to catch it. Turn truck off and back on works fine for about 30 minutes. Then battery dies way too soon. Esc was very warm this time and the battery was not. Put my battery in it and 5 minutes later it takes off on its own again. The very FIRST thing you should do, is take the pinion off the motor and make sure the rig will free roll on a slight decline, both forward and backward. If not, you have binding somewhere in the drive train. I would try swapping the transmitter and receiver of the trucks. If the problem transfers to your truck, then you know it's the transmitter or receiver. So, then, you bind his receiver to your radio. If problem continues, then it's the receiver. If not, bind his tx to your rx. If problems, it's his tx. You could swap the receivers back over and then swap his ESC into your truck and visa versa (that's what I would do FIRST). If the problem transfers with the ESC, something could be bad. Learning to troubleshoot is one of the most important things in this hobby. Most of it (unless you have advanced electronics or computer skills/equipment) is trial and error. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk |

Could be the gear mess, if it is to tight if will cause more strain and load on everything. This will deplete the battery faster, and make the motor and esc hot.
