I know they did, I had a 74 scout II that was sky blue and white, hated to look of it with the top removed, just my personal preference...I feel the same way about broncos and blazers...Jeep CJ's were they only ones that looked good with the tops off... the newer wranglers look like crap as well with the top off...

Scheisse, I was just about to pull the trigger on a gen7 pro for Christmas.

I *so* wish this was going to be ready in time, but I’m even happier that they’re not rushing an un-ready POS out for the holiday season.

What to do....

Agreed on the new Wranglers...but then, they look weird with the top on too.

It wasn't about how it looked, it was about being "cool" running around with no top, especially with no roll bar and in the days when nobody wore seatbelts.

It looks pretty good in the video, but the terrain isn't that difficult. You can see torque twist in the first scene, but it doesn't look to be any more than what the SCX10 II has.

The more I look at this truck the more it looks like a TRX-4 with a GRC front motor conversion kit (seen below). The TRX-4 Sport is $40 more. I'd take the TRX-4 Sport, but if I can find this truck on sale I just might bite.

Yeah I’m curious what weighs more a motor or battery? I see the battery is center on it. With the bronco front battery placement option I wonder which has better weight distribution. Does the sport have the same set up as the bronco or defender? Gotta go look.

The Trx4 Sport shares the defender setup. Bummer. I really like what they did on the bronco

Well it depends on the batter, of course. A full-size battery would weight more.

The Bronco, Defender, and Sport all share the same layouts if that's what you mean.

I'm confused what's different? That photo doesn't show the stock battery location.

The Bronco was designed with an updated forward battery tray in front of the steering servo for a smaller LiPo ... the others weren’t.

They are not all the same setup...the Bronco has a few small changes/updates. The battery tray, shortened wheel base from the get go, wheel wells attached to the frame not the body...I’m missing something...cant remember what.

I meant the same chassis layout - read battery and mid motor. Yes, there are other, minor differences.

I didn't realize the Defender doesn't have that plate up front. Putting a battery there isn't a good idea IMO. It raises the center of gravity on a truck that already has a high center of gravity.

It’s less than a quarter in higher than the full sized location and little over a half inch higher than the deep small slot.

But moves 9” forward in front of the front axle.

Also the high center of gravity applies to the Defender but not the Bronco. So imo the weight over the front axle will help more than the cg change. Which is why Traxxas did it.

Sorry for the juice boxes ... first thing I could find at my disposal lol.

Aren't all crawlers/scalers similar in design in certain areas....? They have to be if they are going to mimic a true scale vehicle
