Default My Gen 8

Just got it in the mail today and already took it around the house. It's really good. Good control, very planted.

Only downside is that the Velcro fell off before it got to me and the foams turn to bricks in cold weather. Oh and the painted windows.

They're the vaterra tsls. Almost exactly the same as the stock as far as size but the foams don't turn into bricks in the cold.

I got my orange one yesterday. I had to wait for the freezing rain to pass. While waiting I dipped the rx in Corrosion X. Today I went for a trail run at the local mtn bike park. Awsome. I ran 2s but tried 3s for a little bit. I'm going to install a cooling fan for my 3s runs. So far I really like the truck.

Love the handles and gas cap. I have a blue one myself. Picked it up friday evening. I concur on the foams, mine were frozen solid by the time I got home with it. Do you have any plans for correct windshield wipers for the front and rear, maybe a rear gate handle? I may be interested in purchasing some 3d printed goodies off you if you wish to make sets for others, PM me if so.

Yes I have an interior printing right now so it's ready when I get the windows done. I am doing some wipers, rear door handle, and a couple of other things.

I found the stock tires are the best in the winter. They hook amazing in the cold compared to other sets. So what I'm doing is swapping the rims and foams and running the rims and foams I have on there with the stock tires.

So I was looking at the fender flares and how to make them look better. Well the stock wheelbase is 324 or 12.75". If you adjust the wheelbase down you can trim out the front fender flare to look like the rear. Only downfall is decreased approach angle by a couple of degrees. I am going to try it and see how it turns out.

I pulled the front wheels back to the center of the wheel well. Shortened the wheel base to 12.375. Going to give it a test before I do anything to the wheel wells. I think with a different bumper it will work out good.

I’ll be following this, I got the next blue Scout coming to my local hobby shop. Those flares are my biggest beef with this rig.

It was my biggest concern also. I also really don't care for a wheel base over about 12.3.

Also it appears that with the front axle moved back that I can flip the servo horn and it should have a better geometry.

Nice Rig mg! I enjoy the creativity in your threads so will be lurking.

Your printed Scout is still cooler though...
