Re: Gen8 my first scale build Welcome to posting on the forum Logan. Why don't you tell people your method for clearing the windows. You'll have added more good technical information to this forum than I have in two years haha. |
Re: Gen8 my first scale build Multiple steps have been used in clearing, Starting with a 600grit wetsand, 1200grit wetsand, 2000grit wetsand Followed by a cleaning Next i used a heavy rubbing compound followed with medium, then a light rubbing compound Plan on painting black around the edge for window seals, then will add polish to what I hope is a decently clear finish Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: Gen8 my first scale build I should mention, Idea is from Hemistorm, who i have followed on youtube for awhile, taking similar steps to him, thanks Hemistorm! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I'm trying to weigh the desire for clear windows against my laziness. :lmao: |

Re: Gen8 my first scale build UPDATE: all windows have been sanded and had rubbing compound on them, next to tape up and paint the black window seals around the edges for a clean look, then polish for hopefully for a nice clear window https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...de473f10df.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...10ca1d45b3.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Gen8 my first scale build First coat of paint, yes my lines arent straight, i cant find my straight edge so i freehanded it. But im happy with how its looking https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...791ef313fb.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: Gen8 my first scale build I like it. That's better than I can free hand a straight line. Sent from my Vivo XI+ using Tapatalk |
Re: Gen8 my first scale build https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...a48bbc68c3.jpg Took a short break from the scout to work on some other rcs of mine, back to the scout and time to make a hardtop for it, using bedliner Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: Gen8 my first scale build Outcome of bedlinerhttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...eba97fa058.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: Gen8 my first scale build Looks MUCH better with a proper black top. |
Re: Gen8 my first scale build That looks great. I was thinking about doing it with plastidip to avoid scratches through the paint. That bedliner looks really good. I may have to do that. Nice work! "thumbsup" |
Re: Gen8 my first scale build That looks good what did you use on the top bed liner? |
Re: Gen8 my first scale build Quote:
I plan on buying a clear body also, this top is more experimental than anything, so i just sucked it up and scuffed the top and bedlined it. Lol took alot of thought before convincing myself to do it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
