Default Hot Racing brass parts for the Gen 8

Hot Racing is first on the Gen 8 aftermarket train with brass portal covers and diff covers.

Very cool. If it wasn't hot racing I would order them. I have had bad experiences with HR. Not sure if they have gotten better lately but I would guess no.

I'm also not a fan of hot racing, but with them both being non moving parts, as long as they seal and the holes line up, why not. If I can find the portal box covers anywhere but ebay I'll order a set and be the guinea pig, I don't do ebay or paypal though so may be a challenge

I was thinking the same thing about them. I'll give it a couple weeks and if there isn't anything else I guess they will work. My biggest concern is that the bearings either don't fit or they're so loose you have to much play in the front hubs.

I classify Hot Racing as a mid level brand: not high end by any means but there are much worse brands out there. They are capable of making some very good things (SCX10 transmission gears for example) and some bad things but for the most part, their products get the job done.

The HR portal covers for the TRX4 have been around for quite a while without issue, don't see why these wouldn't be similar.

yep, I started searching and I can't find them anywhere but ebay yet. If they were on amazon, Theyd be ordered already but the amazon link they provide on their homepage is dead.

I haven't tried the TRX covers from HR. I used SSD on mine. I tried them on my twin hammer and many Scx. I would agree on their gear set. Very good value and quality. will have to give them a try, it's been a few years since I have tried them.

Most people are just getting their hands on one now, so you just gotta give it some time.

The TRX4 was out for about a year before aftermarket started picking up.

I had to modify my diff cover a touch, portal covers work great, but not on Redcat's upgraded aluminum portals(Redcat's fault).
