Pin hole in front top portal gear, left me with 3wd for a bit. Emailed Redcat and they sent out another one of the upgraded cud’s and too portal gears. Very happy still.

thought i would drag this thread back out of the dirt cause well i broke something i broke the rear axle housing i know ive been beating this thing since they came out and finaly broke a axle housing lol anyway new potmetal replacements on the way i could have gone with the v2 housings but i like potmetal axles so i went with those i hope it dosent make the rig to heavy the extra weight might be to much for the servo its a direct powered servo but only up to 2s so it might be time to get a 3s capable direct power unit and step up to 3s staying 2s is probably why it held up so well for so long but with the final peices of the drivetrain being upgraded it might be time for more juice |

Okay, not the trucks fault, definitely mine. I snapped a front axle housing and axle tonight. Cold as heck and playing hard on 3S. Time to look for upgrades… |

| Re: anyone break anything on the gen8 yet It is the AXE version, so whatever came stock on it. I'm really not sure. It was definitely my fault though. Was drunk driving on 3s with a 3300kv AXE 550 System and hit a solid object a little too hard... EDIT - And it happened to be -8° F to -10° F outside that night. 1. Steering link 2. Front portal housings 3. front Input gears I run my truck with a castle brushless system on 3s, sometimes 4s, and those are the only things that have broken. I would recommend club 5 racing links for the front, some treal portal housings, and chromoly or hd input gears. You should be golden after that. | |

I snapped the tip off of the right rear axle shaft. Was pushing it pretty hard with the AXE 550, so not really sure if it is the trucks fault… Anyone know if there are any better axle shafts out there for these axles? |
