Gen8 Redcat aluminum upgrades?

Has anybody used any of the Redcat Gen8 aluminum upgrade parts and pieces?
I thought I read somewhere that some of the aluminum parts didn't match up. I could be wrong and thinking about another truck.
Is the aluminum good quality and durable or is it brittle?
I broke a steering knuckle today. I'm trying to decide between the Redcat aluminum and Hot Racing brass.
Thank you

If I remember right, that was only an issue if combining the Red Car aluminum upgrades with an aftermarket brass portal weight.

And then all it required was a small lip on the brass parts be removed.

Hey Dez, as soon as I read "brass" it hit me and I remembered the post about it. Thank you

I hope some guys will chime in about Redcat's aluminum parts.

Just FYI, SSD will be releasing aluminium and brass parts that are compatible with the stock knuckle/cover fitting.

The Redcat knuckles have a flat fitting with the cover so don't fit aftermarket brass covers.
The Redcat aluminium parts will probably become redundant as all the aftermarket parts will likely fit stock style.

SSD thank you for the info and input about the parts mixing and matching.
I'll get the stock plastic knuckle for now and wait till the release of the SSD replacement parts. I have SSD parts on my SCX10.2, so I know the quality is very good. Thank you

the ssd lower link mounts were a snap on fit with 0 play before the longer screws went in its infinitly better than the original design
