Now hammer out some machined steel portal input gears and you will get all the money from Gen 8 owners.

Full speed at full lock? WTF crawler is going to even do that without going on it's lid?

My dual rate is set to 100%, I haven't broken a thing, and the truck will turn at least as sharp as any stock SCX10 II. Do you even have a Gen8 or are you just making shit up based on what the Internet told you?

Due to the design of the gear it's practically impossilble to machine the input gear without a weak spot. So it may end up fixing one issue and making a new one.

That's unfortunate.

The input gear breaking at the CV pin hole seems to be the most common failure on these trucks.

any hardend steel would still be stronger than potmetal

the cv joints style used on our rigs suck this design was a sticking point for me when i was debating to get the gen 8 or just the body
im still debating if these axles are worth puting any money in to or if i should just toss a set of ar44s under it and call it a day and put these aside for a later project
