Thats a clever method an a good use for all the useless plastic servo horns that you'll end up with buying servos lol.

I use some Dual lock on my body, its much better than the velcro but probably not as secure as your method.

I need to do this since I tried magnets and my front fenders are over 1/4 inch off and can't get magnets to line up.

Getting the magnets to line up is easy. Glue the magnets to the body. Once they're dry, stick the 2nd set of magnets to the glued magnets, put some glue on those, turn the body upside down and set the chassis into position and let it dry. Once you do that, everything will be exactly where it needs to be.

Here's my video that covers the magnet installation. Skip ahead to 5:04 unless you want to see the rest.

As you can see in the video, the magnets work great when you take the time to install them properly.

I had this problem with my gen 8. my front fenders were also like 1/4 inch misaligned, causing a large gap and magnets not to contact. rather than drilling new holes and moving the front or rear fenders, i just added several stacks of magnets to the front fender. I ended up using some of that 3M dbl sided mounting tape that supports like 10-15lbs, that seemed to work fine, especially when u use all 8 mounting points in the chassis. went with the tape first, just in case i messed up with mounting location. it hasnt come off since, so havent bothered with epoxy/shoe glue:
