| Gen 7 transmission
1st post! Backstory: Bought a Gen7 to have fun with the kids (2 and 4) and get them interested. It's been a blast. Let my friend's 7yo pilot it and within 5 minutes he hit a fence full throttle and ended up eating one of the gears: I also have an unbuilt VS-410 Origin I have a VFD for. I'm thinking about using the stock transmission from it for the Gen7 but I know the mounts aren't exactly the same. Haven't tried it yet but I'm hoping the VS mounting plate will bolt up rather then me drilling the Gen7 mounting plate. |

I worn my Gen 7 Transmission gears out in a month. I just ordered some steel ones today. Good luck.

I believe the VS410 uses the SCX-style trans mounts. If that's the case, 2 of the holes in the Gen7 skid plate will line up, and the other 2 will need to be slotted. You could also turn the skid plate around and drill 4 new holes, which will allow you to use just about any transmission. Some aftermarket skid plates come pre-drilled for the Axial transmissions, so that would be another option if you're not able to drill the new holes. |
