Wendigo is a go. Got my new Wendigo today. Looks pretty good. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...6a7570cff9.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...82ea8ef763.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...11d3b869c7.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...b7a940e579.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...87953f5d8c.jpg Sent from my Vivo XI+ using Tapatalk |
Re: Wendigo is a go. It is a really good looking rig. I'm anxious to see what the internals of the axles are like. |
Re: Wendigo is a go. Pretty cool looking rig. I like the little detail in the opening visors on the driver and passenger helmets as well. I was just wondering the other day why more driver / passenger heads don't have this cool little feature? Definitely looks like it's going to need an altitude adjustment. |
Re: Wendigo is a go. Congrats on the new rig! Those visors are definitely a cool detail. Redcat does a good job with those types of details. Are those the same driveshafts in the Gen 8? If so, anyone know how they hold up? Just from an eyeball they look a little lean, particularly at the joint for a brushless truck. Hopefully they hold up. |

Re: Wendigo is a go. Oh nice! I am cautiously optimistic about this rig. I'm not the only one who has been wanting a dual purpose gofast crawler in ultra4 flavor. Maybe this rig could be the catalyst to start a new niche? Frame rails, solid axle (cms), brushless... Just needs a 2 speed transmission and remote locking diffs and it would be a real contender for "do it all"! (I briefly considered a trx4 with portal deletes right before this rig dropped) Curious to see how yours evolves! |

So far it's got potential but I am going to change the shock oil. It's too springy. But I think it should work good after that. Sent from my Vivo XI+ using Tapatalk |
Re: Wendigo is a go. That looks pretty sweet man!!! Now I really want one!!! |

Re: Wendigo is a go. Tore the axles apart. Even though the diff spool looks interchangeable with the Gen8 it is a slight bit different. looks like they essentially just made it a bit thinner. The c hubs are held on by 5 screws. Very beefy c hubs compared to any stock axle I have seen and the cvd cup is really thick. The knuckle is almost made like a buggy knuckle. So far after some hardcore stress testing the Axles are very durable. Never had a set of stock ar60 hold up to even mild abuse. Now I just need to get the torque twist reduced to avoid the torque stear or axle mounted servo with 4 Link and this will be an awesome truck.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...5adbdc5962.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...c4e3e3bab1.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...b6316f387f.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...17dcbebde3.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...acdc557934.jpg Sent from my Vivo XI+ using Tapatalk |
Re: Wendigo is a go. I want to see how those axles hold up to serious, monster truck abuse. |
Re: Wendigo is a go. or wait for losi to announce their (solid axle?) MT? those axles DO look super beefy though! thanks for showing us! |

Mgputer, thanks for the detailed pics and information on the axles. If these turn out to be as durable as they appear, Redcat will have a real winner on their hands, especially if they release a monster truck. It makes me wonder if this truck was essentially a "beta" test for these parts prior to a monster truck release. |

Also, interesting thought! Any MT fan knows the market needs durable axles. The AR60's aren't that. |
