Default Gen 7 Rod Ends

So I've broken a lower link rod end on my Gen 7 and am having a heck of a time finding the right size replacement. I've tried several in my parts bin (RC4WD, Traxxas) but the threaded end on the link is too small. Also, Redcat only seems to sell the links. Not just the rod end.

What rod ends are compatible?

i think your looking for medium sized rodends theres short medium and long but not all manufacturers sizes are the same
if you buy longer rod ends.you can cut them down to what ever size you want
the best option is to replace all the rodends with quality rod ends and never have that problem again

What size are the threads?

Traxxas has difference diameter (for different thread sizes) as well as different length rod ends.

The stud threads coming out of the link are 3mm.

I bought a pack of RC4WD M3/M4 Z-S1378 Plastic Short Rod Ends but they're too big (not the end itself, just the hole that accepts the stud).

In shopping around for ends I'm guessing 4mm is standard because I cant really tell where it's specified.

all your hardware is gona be 3m the stud might not be longenuff to thread in to the rod end the rc4wd rod ends should work if you have enuff threads sticking out of the link if not back the stud out of the link and thread it by itself in to the rod end then back on to the link itself your gona need a 1.5mm driver to thread the stud in to the rod end the rc4wd rod ends dont have any threads cut in to them so your gona have to use some force to get them started

I did a side-by-side with my vanquish links from an Origin I'm putting together. It's on top. The RC4WD end fits it no problem. The Gen 7 threads on the bottom are too small in diameter. Below that is a 3 mm screw and nut - the same diameter as the Gen 7 link stud.

What am I missing here?

Traxxas 5349 have 3mm thread and a 3mm hole in the ball, I used those to repair my son's Gen7, but I don't recall if the width is the same as the Redcat ends.

Yup. The M3/M4 refers to the ball end hole and the plastic hole, so you bought an end link that accepts an M3 screw through the ball end, but is sized to thread on to an M4 link thread. You need an M3/M3 (usually just called M3) rod end. RC4WD, Traxxas and tons of others make them. I keep a bunch of the long RC4WD links around because that way I can cut them down to any length I need.

Winner winner chicken dinner! As noobish as it sounds, that's exactly the info I was looking for. Decoding the vendor descriptions. Thank you!
