Default My Gen7 Build

Well all I guess it was a matter of time before I caught the scaler bug, I have loved RC crawlers for some time now, Started with a RS10 rockslide about 6-7 years back and about a year and a half back got a danchee ridge rock, Love that rig btw best back for buck. Now on to the gen 7 build, it all started a few months back, I go some beta porta axles cheap hoping to mod them onto the danchee, but no dice. I stumbled on the Vader skid for the gen 7 and I knew at that point I had to build one. So I ordered a burnt orange gen 7 sport knowing I was going to upgrade and build it immediately, I already had beta portals, so ordered a 35kg DSservo from amazon the vader skid and metal gears for the transmission. Last but not least I have never been great and painting RC body's and I already found what I really wanted, the Team Associated Trophy Rat Rod body complete with lights and already painted. So that's what I got 2 days ago and here's where it is today, I think ill do custom bumpers cause the cut down gen 7's are ok but need something more / better, and maybe wheels.

So updates to the Gen7 build, I trimmed more on the body for clearance one the sides and front and back to tuck and move bumpers in and up in the rear for more approach and departure angle. I also swapped the 35KG 180deg servo for a 270 degree, so with the stock redcat controller I get full 50 degree throw, I did trim the area inside the knuckle to get this max throw. I also added some automotive trim guard to keep from beating the side edges of the body from getting beat up.

New mods, added some red drings for that scaler look, got rid of the cage for the electronics and lowered them for better cg. And for even better cg, stole my sons 1.9 wheel and tire set up cause he likes the 2.2s on his gen 8, and added the stainless steal wheel weights that look like disc brakes, also added the brass weighted hubs. Also added the internal spring shocks again for a more scale look and the softest spring they came with for more droop. The cg is much lower now and man what an improvement in traction and side hilling.
