Default Redcat Gen 8 6x6

I was up to 5 redcats so I decided to go with a 6x6 and combined 2.

I cut off the frame about 6mm from the back of the rear shock towers. I disassembled the other truck and cut out parts of the frame to use as the mount for the mini skid I cut from the other gen8.

After I had the rear axle mount welded up and figured, I cut a piece of Gen 8 frame and attached it to the rear.

Mounted up the shock towers and installed the 2nd transfer case. I used a shaft I had from a different transfer case and made the top little transfer case gear shaft go all the way through. Trimmed up the skid a little for drive shaft clearance and attached the shaft to the rear transfer case.

Not using the body in the picture, I have something else in mind.

Video of the test!

Wicked build. Are you gonna upgrade the electronics as well?

Yes sir. Just wanted to test it to make sure it works. I have a 21t in it and will probably use a HW1080

A little more work done. Put on the inner fenders and getting everything ready for the body.

I took it out for a drive and it's so fun. Can't wait to get it done.

Are you kidding me, that chopped Scout body looks cool on there mg. Rough perhaps, but there is a definite charm in it. Besides it’s matches that demolished six pack of Bud Light ...

Cool build, nice to see your projects are still flowing. As I commented on your YouTube channel, you are single handedly keeping Redcat current in the scaler market with this 6X6 build.

Thanks it grew on me too. I was thinking about keeping it but I think I am going a different route for the body. I love watching the Czech 6x6 and 8x8 so I want something similar to that.

Yah I was crushing the cans with the 6 x 6. After I emptied them of course.

I just set everything up for a mock up but it looks like I can make it work.

I put the flares on the back. Not sure if I am going to keep them on or not.

The flares suit it. They look heavy duty

Tinkered after lunch a bit and got a little more done. Thinking I'm going to work on a dog house for behind the cab next. Still not 100% sure on the end product yet but it's coming along.

The Dog House is a good idea. I am not a pop culture buff but a dog house sounds like it would fit on a Beavis-mobile.

Beyond that, there is crazy potential for a Mad Maxx inspired rig.
