Default Gen8 AXE Driveshafts

Hello all,

It looks like the driveshafts have finally developed enough slop in them that I am going to replace them prior to failing.

Just a quick search did not yield much discussions on them and a Google search only brought up s few different items listed as available.

Who has upgraded their driveshafts (all 3)?
What MFG did you go with and are you happy with them?

Are there driveshafts from another brand of vehicle that will fit?
If so, are modifications required?

Thank you

I picked up the Redcat steel driveshafts and they're designed wrong, splines dont allow you to properly phase the driveshaft. But I've just lived with it so I'm not sure what a better option is.

I believe it uses a standard 5mm (output) shafts so you should have tons of options, just look for an appropriate length.

Thank you sir. I have a plethora of various Traxxas and Axial driveshafts at the house and will take a look the next time I am home.

I'm sure there would be an SSD option, just need to find the lengths and compare. SSD Driveshafts are solid and they should have something that would fit fine.

Thanks ferp, I’ve got a few to choose from at the house and will see what I can put together. I think I have some play in the mid shaft too, but I’ll pull it all apart and check it out real good.

It’ll give me a good reason to pull the transmission and transfer case out to check the bearings and grease everything up.
