i got my bearings and the gears installed i went to cut down my drive shaft and i thought the splines went all the way through but i was wrong so i had to make a few more cuts and welded the peices back together and it works i think its plenty strong but only time will tell the upside is its the perfict langht now i have it running and driving i still need to pull it apart and paint the chassie and sleave the links i might take it out for a test crawl but its still needs a bit of work so far im happy with but ill see when it hits the rocks it it works how i want it too any way driveshaft pics ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

i got this rig out for a shake down run i ran it with my gen8 it kept up for the most part the smaller tires and stiff foams and straight axles kinda hert it in places but not as bad as the front bumper lol all and all it kicked but ran for about 30 min and no breakadge it needs some tuning and a real motor that old redcat motor has to go lol oh well it works anyway heres a link to the video https://rumble.com/v21c75c-new-cat-o...tom-gen-8.html |

after a few test runs it really needs some forward waight bias so i picked up some brass knuckles so add another $20 to the total also the wheels were tucked under the fenders and that made it hard to get a side bite so i added wheel spacers i had laying around so no extra cost there and that pesky redcat motor well the test run took care of that it went up in smoke lol so to keep things consitant with my gen8 i picked up another 13t crawlmaster sport so add another $20 since the knuckles and first motor were just laying around i dident add the cost of those in so ill add the new stuff to the cost but even at that its a good price for a built fully upgraded gen7 pro when the motor comes in ill give it another test run and post up another video |

Pretty cool stuff bud. May be a dumb question but where did you get that plastic? I tried looking it up with no luck. And are you tapping the holes?

| ![]() its just 1/4 thick styrene same as the cutting boards they used to sell everywere the cutting board is more of a term used back in the day when people would buy cutting boards and make chassis out of them before all the desktop cnc machines and 3d printers and pre made chassis i had a 4x8 sheet of it i have half of it left now i use it for all kinds of things i also have a 3x5ft 1/2" thick sheet but i havent used any of it yet i havent tapped any holes i do predrill the holes though most of the time i have a nut on the back side unless its a deep hole some places i dont even use screws just a peice of 2.5mm solid rod and shove it in the hole and it stays there till i pull it out this stuff is really easy to work with its crazy and kinda fun |
