I just bought one, won't be here till Wednesday though, right now I have a stock rs10, a highly modded rs10 with 390 banebots which is built to run with my Chaotic/Bully comp crawler, and except for being a bit down on power it does it very well, also have a trail monster which started it as a tmaxx, but after owning it for 17 years, numerous changes and lots of green it's now a Neucastle powered, steel caged, trail runner, so the Everest won't be stock for long, leaning towards making a scale southern type trail buggy, as I have a few acres here that are perfect for running rc toys.

I'm 99.9% sure they are HSP Kulak (Everest-16) and HSP Right-CR (Everest-10). I know people love to hate these crawlers but they've been around for a few years now and now Redcat will stock parts for them. I think it's great for us who like to build custom projects but have limited budgets. I will most likely get one for a D90 chassis project I'm working on. Especially since I'm a Redcat dealer and they'll be cheap enough for sure!

Looks like an interesting rig. I'm looking forward to seeing what you guys come up with for it. I'm a bit intrigued by the Everest 1:16. I've been eyeballing a mini or micro for a bit now.

92gsr, I believe you are right on the money, thanks! I've been looking everywhere for specs on the Everest to no avail, now I know what to expect, any heads up to the weak parts on the Right CR?

Wouldn't surprise me a bit if the three were made in the same factory under different names just like half the riding lawnmowers in this country are.

Well, in stock form the Everest was ok, although my stock rs10(cept for rovers) can both run and crawl circles around it. It does seem well built though the wheels are a bit wobbly, may just need better bearings, seems this vehicle would be great for kids and those of us who just love to work on and improve things, so the changes have begun, first was some sipes and weighted Ripsaws, which are both taller and more narrow than the very wide stock tires and rims,Vast improvement, next I changed out the motor for a B&D 12v drill motor which is 7.4 lipo powered now, MAJOR improvement! Just these couple changes now has it running and crawling circles around the RS10..... Now what to do about the torque twist....oh and I swapped the plastic servo horn for a 23t metal one...

I'd like to see some pictures with the body off and of the axles/transmission if you get a chance to put some up. As for the torque twist, snoop around the ax10 and venom creeper sections for ideas on how to cure that.

I tried to post a pic but it didn't come up, I'll try again a bit later from a real computer, the torque seemed a bit lower, and the speed was definitely lower than the Rs10, the drill motor I'm using is just temporary, thinking of going velineon, or maybe another brushless combo.

Angle is comparable to stock rs10,I shaved the stops a bit but with the dogbones you will run into the same axle bustin problems as the rs10, and yes 540 power!

It's only a matter of time until people start acquiring and modding the crap out of these. Depending on how the axle and tranny internals are, if it's 540 powered, has the possibility of cvds and some axial stuff like knuckles fit, it could be a great little rig on the cheap and more capable than the RS10.

The key is to be able to upgrade the drivetrain parts. Shafts will be no problem since there's already a ton of those on the market that should bolt up. It's the diffs and tranny that will be the question. Then again, it's easy enough to upgrade the tranny if need be. The axles are a different story.

To me the axles look way better than the rs10's, chubs look very similar to the axial stuff, I've got some strc chubs on order, if they fit I'll leave em on and order 3 more sets.... I still haven't taken any new pics, looks like I'll tear it down and get some, I was hoping to see how tough this thing is with just a bit more power and better traction, but guess I'll strengthen up some weak looking stuff as I run across it.... The connect boxes are plastic with steel gears..... And the 14t pinion is brass and already broke off half the threads so it is pretty weak...
