Question RS10 problem

My cousin just bought a rs10 and it's completely stock all except an aftermarket 7.2v 5000mah batt. Had a gtg planned for tomorrow but his rig quit working tonite. The problem is that it has no power in forward and only the rear turns when in reverse. He can hold it off the ground and the tires spin just fine but under a load it won't move. The motors still sound like they're turning though. He checked the axle gears and they are fine. Does anybody have a clue what this could be?

Just to update: He took it back apart to inspect the gears one more time and it seems like the problem is in the spur gear. The gear that the dogbones attach to. Thinking maybe the drive pin broke. Is this a common problem that could cause the symptoms explained above?

Yep, it's very possible the drive pin has snapped, it's a somewhat common thing that can happen. Disassemble the spur assembly and check the pin, if it's not snapped, let us know and we'll try to help you from there.

Glad you gave your money to ZNO, but you shouldv'e kept reading and learned that a cut up finish nail would be a life long fix for free Oh and I hope your are replacing both of the and not just one axle and make sure you regrease the gears well.
