This is one serious rats nest! How am I gonna clean up all this? It might take a few more beers yet.

Yes, they are the ZNO kit, purchased years ago. I don't feel the 4mm aluminum is that necessary, but their a great "bolt on" option.

After years of modifying, I'm actually still running the stock dogbones! I have never snapped or spun one in fact! (That I can recall anyways). A couple years ago when I was active on this forum, the cvd options were pretty hard to come by and offered no actual increase in steering.

I've always run with a rubber O-ring for shocks stuffed in the inner diff cups to push the dog bones into the steering cups. Then limit my steering to exactly where the cups will start to bind. If they bind, they will spit out the side!! I have been happy with this.

But I was reading the "stearing thread" where that guy is using TRAXXAS universals?!?!?! That's exciting!!! I'm pretty sure I even have some of those!

you will have to hollow out the ends of the axle housings
and maybe do without the inner bearing on the knuckle.
but yes, that is one of the better ways.
getting the right knuckle will make all the difference and the best knuckle is the dlux knuckle at 95.00 a pair.
getting the pivot on the universal right under the king pin (screw) is the problem.

Here are those pictures. Just as I promised. whats new is the high steer setup on the front, and the tray to mount the esc on the upper links. I had to lose the electronics tray so it was easier to remove the battery fo charging.

More showing off of the homemade knuckle weights, as well as the lower shock mounts, and the awesome belly clearance. Combined with the cutting board skid, she slides over the rocks with ease.

Well it's been a couple years since I hit the rocks, But the rig did not disappoint! She could be smoother in the slow speed. I think I need to service a few bearings. They may be rusty. But then again, so is the driver!! Lol

It's HD on YouTube!

Thanks dubyas. Yes you should have. It's the best value in a basher available. And, I think, I'm about comp ready. In Canada at least. (Smaller market )

Naturally, my first crawl in several years, featured in the above video, ended when something broke! As any good crawl session goes, in any scale.
My rear diff pin, allready a hardened replacement, stripped, and of course, shredded the diff plate. Luckily, I had expected this, and I had allready bought the replacement "ZNO-RC aluminium diff plate kit" several years ago, back when they were still in business!!! AND, it came with new pins too. I had to track the parts down, burried under all my spare RC-plane parts but now, she should be bomb proof................... For a while......

Well, since my crawler is seemingly "done" for now, and it almost pains me to say that,. This has been my project lately. (Hey. It's my thread; I dirty it up with whatever I want! )

It is entirely 2 Maisto toy grade crawlers, combined to act as one! I know many of you rs-10 guys have messed around with maistos at some point.
8 wheel drive, 4wheel steering, original 'brick' electronics, including non-proportional throttle and steering. All running on one 1300mah lipo, gives me over 30 minutes of crawl time.

It is surprisingly capable considering being all toy grade gear. Clodstall is a factor (x4) but that makes it fun and challenging to push the drivers limits with such a rig. I'm having a blast with her!
