| Posting Pics For Dummies There you go, SeTh_Rs10. That how-to is for photobucket, but if you read through it you should be able to figure it out on flickr also. All you need is the image link that is wrapped in the [IMG]photoname[/IMG] tags. Then copy and paste that link into a rccrawler post and they'll post right up. |

Well, a lot of flex isn't necessarily a good thing. Can you post up a picture with one of your wheels flexed up onto something and the other 3 contacting the ground? That'll give us an idea of how much articulation you do have. If you have a few inches worth, or maybe a soda can height, that's plenty. It makes your rig nice and predictable.

might consider adding some weight to the front. It will help you axle pull down and compress the rear suspension making it more flexy. You don't want too much articulation but you do want to be able to use the articulation you have. Those zno wheels should be lighter than the stocks so I'm bettin that some weight would help.

Right. This is why I tried some new things because it had too much. On stock the pic of it on the couch is me putting one wheel on the couch and the other one just goes straight up, but here is a pic of it on a soda can, it does do that but on some things when I am driving it will pull both front wheels up when O am only using one wheel on the object. It seems like the shocks are a lot stiffer, not sure if that's bad or not. |

I would suggest adding a little weight too, like dudegetabike said. If you do that and still don't like the way it flexes, you could swap to some softer springs for your shocks.

I picked up about 5 lbs of used balancing wheel weights from a small local auto shop; they just gave it to me for free. They weren't sticky so I laid out tape and placed them with uniform spacing then taped them to center of rim.

There's a thread, I think maybe tips and tricks, where somebody puts weights in foams. If your foams are soft and you don't secure them they may float around giving uneven weight.

Are your shocks working 100% or are they hiting the chassi when you flex? You should double check that... |

I noticed 2 things on your setup that will help it to flow a little better. 1st you have the shock spacers on the outside of the shock instead of between the shock and the chassis mount. This might be causing it to bind on the chassis or at least drag. If it makes it to wide putting the shock spacer in there you can also use a 3mm nut and space it out that way. 2nd your springs look like they are preloaded quite a bit. You can soften up the preload and that will help it to have a softer ride. I think on one of the cars I built with a similiar setup we used losi gold springs to achieve a softer ride. Just some things to help with tuning. Weight is your friend though just make sure to only add what you need, where you need. It is easy to overweight these cars which bogs the little motors down and makes it harder to steer as well. |
