But in general I agree with that principle...I just cannot put it into practice this time. Here's a video of me mounting tires on the cut down rims using my world renown tire press lmao. | |

I will definitely break it playing with it.. Thanks man.[/QUOTE] build it, break it, blame the driver, blame the part, look at it on the bench for an hour. then make it better, both the driver and the rig. thats my favorite part of the hobby. |

By building almost every part and reconfiguring it over and over I have gained much more knowledge of what is possible than if I just got something and kept it the way I got it that's for sure. I turned my attentions to the shell and got it cut and mounted. There were some compromises, but I am going to let it sit for a day before doing any more cutting. Have a look. |

After letting the whole build stew for a day and a half as I handled various other projects over the weekend I put in a productive day and got the body cut to it's final shape, started on the waterproofing of the electronics and created a crash cab for the chassis if my client wants to try his hand at crawling bare back. The cab was a lot of work but I think it adds some character to the otherwise overly symmetrical look of the vehicle. |

Everything is everything. It's alive. All systems go. Which makes me a happy camper. Got a video uploading but here's some pictures in the meanwhile. To catch up from the last update: waterproofing complete, battery attached with velcro, BEC attached with velcro, BEC programmed to 6VDC output via Castle Link, Red wire on ESC 3 pin pulled and insulated with heat shrink, BEC plugged into RX, to power the servos and RX, wiring lashed, new AHZ aluminnum servo horns installed, system test on stand. Next up shell work and LED wiring madness. |

| Solder Monkey
I am confuzedled. The red and amber LEDs have the positive lead on the big part inside...which is opposite of what I am expecting. The white ones are positive on the small bit. Which is normal. I wonder why? Still in the prepping stage. Soldered 33 ohm 1 watt flame proof resistors on the postive leg of the white bulbs and 22 ohms on the rest so they will run within spec tapping into the 6VDC output of the BEC. Using a Y cable and an extension to make a start to the loom. Everything has to be loomed parallel so no simple way to make it happen...lots of solder connections etc. And I am not risking the shell to a slip of the iron or a splat of solder so I gotta get all the lengths just right and do it up on the bench. Fun fun fun. Pics later... |
