Just Received - My RS10, new body style

Cabron, it just dawned on me that your 'clocking' comment about the axles is the same as MS. My apologies for not including you in my thank you post.
Had to try it so I just got done moving the top links back about 1/4 inch. The front axle is now tilted to the rear and steering is even better. Now to bed.....

Jcon, I went for the max voltage and torque so no bec used. But you are correct, a bec with voltage options would provide more choices. Gotta take some pics.

A couple of pics to show skid plates. Here are the mods/adjustments.
1. Two new servos (TowerPro 996R)
2. Removed tire foams and cut off some lugs
3. Added wheel weights front (3 ozs each wheel) and rear (1 oz each wheel)
4. Tilted front axle toward the rear
5. Lowered the electronics tray
6. Using 2200mah 2s lipo
7. Set Ch 2 DR to 80%

Seems to go pretty nice now. Could use better tires for sure, but I'm cheap.

Just watched a utube vid with cougar panther 2.2 tires, They seem to work very well.

Comp crawler taking vert lines and side hilling. Weighing at 5.00 pounds

Jcon, thanks for the positive comments. I do alot of rock 'sliding' which can be hard on the plastic. Those tires look nice. Keep us posted. A Main is a dependable vendor but a shade expensive sometimes.

Got tired of the rig hanging up on the lower links on "peaked" objects. Bent the links, ditched the plastic shock mounts, and relocated the shocks. To get rid of the link flopping, the lower shock mount is attached to the lower link on a flattened area with two washers. Have to be careful to not tighten the screws too much or the shock will bind. The top shock "towers" are to get a nice height while retaining good travel. Double bend is needed to clear the motor. Works nice. If the soft stock links/ends break, they will be replaced.

Looks much more functional. Nice work on that complex bend. I had no idea the hex shafts could take those kinds of bends

Ok, more mods in the works. Decided to make a pseudo-bodiless RS10. I want to see how it will look if I make a real bodiless chassis. And shorten the wheelbase by about 3 inches! Oh no - why do that? My indoor track is better suited to a shorter wheelbase is the reason. Besides, I have a 1/8 crawler for outdoors. Pics when it's done. If the shorter wheelbase doesn't work correctly, it's easy to make new links for replacement.

interesting. since the rs10 axles are so narrow, they may be better suited to 1/12 to 1/16 scale
maybe even try some 1.9 wheels.

My thoughts exactly. They are not much wider than the 1/16 I have. First tests show great improvement in turning radius, to be expected. The WB is 9.25 inches. The stock wheels maintain nice ground clearance. The only negative so far is that a quick trigger finger will cause it to turtle-back on steep inclines - again expected for a short wheelbase. Now to fabricate a pseudo-bodiless frame.
