Better than nothing, yes, but I wonder what you'd get if you needed to order a part. Hopefully they'll make the necessary corrections soon. Thank you for checking, NorCal69. Wasn't up yet last time I checked a few days ago.

I've ordered backup parts for the HSP 10 crawler off fleabay, they have the same basic part numbers and look to be the exact same.

VooDoo, can you post us a link to the seller. Tryin to find a good "reliable" product source is like tryin to find a needle in the ole haystack sometimes - here today gone tomorrow, if ya know what i mean.

Forgive my ignorance but I don't know how to post a link on this iPhone, but just look up hsp crawler on the bay and check out some part numbers, most are the same as the booklet describes, and the reason you can't find the aluminum upgrades anywhere is because they aren't out yet.....I called them.... Next spring was best guess.

Axial lockers and beadlocks? Check. Pro-Line Badlands 2.2s? Check. 2S Lipos and parallel harness? Check. Losi Mini-T springs and Grappler body? Check. Teflon and high density plastic sheets? Check. Looks like Santa and Christmas came early. Just a sneak preview. I'll post related, educational stuff in this thread, but will start a separate build thread when i'm ready. |

Thanks for the write up on this. I've been wanting to build another truck and this thing seems to be a good place to start. For the price it seems to have plenty of usable parts and I can always use the electronics in my kid's vehicles. I just placed an order for one. Redcat is a big enough company that I'm not worried about finding replacement parts.

Good to see that it has a scx10 style locker with no dog bone. You will be able to mod a CVD to fit it and actually get some steering angle.

how much would it take to get one of these to keep up to an scx10? motor/cvds and whatever else is needed to get some decent steering prob lipo/new esc? or should I just buy a scx10 dingo kit? Last edited by JCon; 12-27-2014 at 08:32 AM. |

If you've got the money or will have it over the next 3 months, check out the two recommended Axial Scx10 rigs in my sig. But if $130 is all you can afford then your choice is made.

I've been looking at the diagrams and watching a few videos look like you could put a lockout in it pretty easy? I may be wrong? But for the price what to you have to lose ya know? just like everything you buy you live and learn and teach others |

If you mean crawling then I think it's already better. (but let's keep in mind they are both two totally different vehicles - 1.9 vs 2.2, scale frame vs TVP) The only questions that need be asked and answered are; 1) what do you want to do with it? 2) how much can you afford and over what time frame? I just got an SCX10 and I gotta be honest, after seeing how the Everest 10 is equipped and at the price I think the Axial is quite over-priced. The steering link is beyond a joke (and people complain about RedCats then say their *** is better?!?!? lol). Now if you want to go to comps or "official" trail runs and such then you might be out of luck with the Everest since it's TVP (Twin Vertical Plate). Depending on how stick it's run they might not let you run, or run last for no points or who knows. Or you can use it as a great and inexpensive starting platform to build on. For what you save on the initial purchase with the E10 you can buy a WHOOOOOOOLE lot of aluminum upgrades.

Check those links I posted above for more info about that stuff. I take back what I said about shocks being first mod. Gotta do the locker first ... then shocks.

I just ran a full 3s pack through the stock ESC and motor, worked fine, so far no magic smoke, adds a bit more power and wheel speed. just remember no low voltage cut-off, so use an add on low voltage alarm. |

I'd definitely run a bec with 3s as that's often what creates issues with esc's.
