Motors not throttle synced I have had my RS10XT for a few weeks now and last weekend I discovered the front motor will start turning before the rear motor. (stock motors) Was thinking it was clodstall, but with no load on the tires, the fronts will start to turn (~1/8 throttle) and the rears will start to turn once I give it more throttle (~1/4-1/2 throttle). Pulled the rear motor and the rear axle rotates fine without bind. Is this a sign that the rear motor is shot? |
Re: Motors not throttle synced Switch the rear motor to the front and see if the problem follows the motor and that will help you troubleshoot. |
Re: Motors not throttle synced the stock esc sends the same voltage to both motors. if you have stock motors too it could be something as simple as the gear mesh not being set the same front and rear. swaping motors will be an0 good troubleshooting action what about in reverse? does the front motor start first that way too? |
Re: Motors not throttle synced I suggest posting up in the electronics section. The guys in there are usually a lot of help on questions like this. |
Re: Motors not throttle synced Thanks guys. I will swap the motors tonight, double check the mesh is the same, as well as get out the multimeter and test the circuits. "thumbsup" |
Re: Motors not throttle synced Swapped motors and the problem moved to the front axle. Both sets of yellow and blue wires are putting out 8v at WOT. I will just order a new motor. "thumbsup" |
Re: Motors not throttle synced Glad you figured it out. My son's rear motor on his RS10 is getting weak and stalling out much more frequently so we're going to have to replace his and he has been thinking about using the banebots or just doing a 540 conversion like mine. |

Re: Motors not throttle synced I don't know if they work for sure or how much of an upgrade they would be but we have been looking at the team brood frenzy mini motor. I think it is a 370 or 380 size but I think we're gonna try it in my son's rig because i think they have to be an improvement over stock. I don't know when we'll get to this because he has his micro crawler that he is working on right now but i'll let you guys know how it works when we try it. |
Re: Motors not throttle synced Having the front motor run a little faster than the rear is a good thing, unless you can control them separately while driving. I have constant overdrive on my shafty and that change made it better in all aspects other than driving straight on level ground. |
