Thanks for reporting back. It's good to know that the width works. I think I'll try my hand at making one for my son's E10 first though, his can't afford to give up any ground clearance since it's on 1.9"s with shorter shocks already.

Here is a pic of my modified skid plate after quite a bit of use. This is to replace the picture that photo bucket removed. If you can't tell, the transmission is not currently in place but you still should be able to see the design of the skid plate. Sent from my XT1030 using Tapatalk |

Here is a thread about an alternate way to improve/replace the E10s skidplate: http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/redca...l-fitment.html |

Hmm.......just had a thought while reading a Gen7 thread.....I don’t know, but suspect a Gen7 skid plate may be a good swap and closer direct drop-in to the E10 than modifying an SCX10 skid like I did.

Oh, my bad - I'd seen a pic in a Gen7 thread and the skidplate looked like a SCX10 style. Maybe they'd already swapped it out or something.

Here's what I did: similar to the above mods but i used 1/4" aluminum, old coat hanger rod, and pen springs for the spacers/to help center things. Looks crazy but it works. The aluminum was used after the stock plate started to buckle from having so much material removed. The new setup is stiff af. Pics coming! I figured out how to post em but im baked af right now. Peoole are gonna think it is wacky as **** having laterally sliding lower link mounts, but it seems to work well, i only get a little torque twist now and only when I mat the throttle with a 3s.
