Default Scx10 axles on Everest

I'm sure its out there somewhere but all I can find is people changing the lockers not the axles. Can you bolt up a scx10 axle under the Everest? Sorry if this is a dumb question or if it's already been asked.

That's because the stock plastic diff lockers are terrible and they will go wrong. I own a Maverick Scout (pretty much the same sans the 4ws). At first I had installed the "ugraded aluminum diff of fleabay and it was ok. At a later time I was given as a gift a set of used scx10 axles, quality was better but I had to make fit the 4link (stock axial is 3link) uppers and match the driveshafts since the axial pinion uses a through hole. I have ditched the scx10 axles now and replaced them with AR60s. I truly love em.. the rig is much better and since we don't have comps here in Greece (..yet?) the extra width is of no concern.

Did you have to modify the ar60s at all?

AR60 axels will require different suspension links to eliminate binding. At least that was my experience adding them to my E10. Boom Racing Aluminum links for the Axial Wraith worked perfectly for me. Huge difference with the AR60's though and like Vagos said, the extra width is amazing.

I would highly recommend picking up an axial transmission if going with either the AR44 or AR60 axles.

Not at all, I am using bent Rc4wd rod ends that are longer than stock and got lucky with pinion angles, they are good! I think we got you hooked on the AR60 idea..

Some minor downfalls are:
1. I had to use some spacers to prevent binding of the shocks.
2. Stock tranny has D shaped outputs and the scx10/ar60 have a through hole. The axial plastic driveshafts are the same sans the through hole though. So (and being a cheepassmonkey...) I used stock halves (1 male-1 female) on the gearbox and axial on the axles. It took only one of each heheheh. A temporary solution of course..

I am at work now (and on the other side of earth...) but should you want to I can take some pictures to show how the AR60s fit for now..

I think I am hooked on the ar60 idea haha Thanks for all the input so far!! Only couple more questions. Does it matter what axial tranny I get and is there a lightly upgraded one for not much more than stock? What did you use for spacers on the shocks? And last question, did the swap require you to make that white piece on the axle or is that just one of those pieces for keeping the axle from trying to move?

The white tower you see is a upper link riser I fabricated myself. It is not, by any means, essential to the swap. I still have the stock tranny and just used 1 axial driveshaft to fit axles. If you change to an scx10 gearbox box you ought to change the skid also or drill two new holes... Shock spacers are simply piecies of aluminium tube..
