Default Fort Wetherill Park - Jamestown

This state park is worth a ride if you're looking for a place to crawl in Rhode Island. Parking is easy (and free) and the views of the bay are amazing. Circled the area we crawled, but other spots are worth a look as well.

Was a Berg practice session. RICrawler scouted this location and set two seven gate courses. Some difficult, but all good. Here's some photos.

A few more pics from this spot. The rock is well-weathered with lots of grip.

Pics look great, still doesn't do the place justice though! Soon as my servo gets back I'm ready for another trip!

Agreed! Went back yesterday to play after making a half dozen "improvements" to the rig. No rain this week, so all the chalk gate circles and OB lines were still there! Spent a good 15 minutes working that first course gate 5 side hill into hard right hand up hill turn (you know the one). Conclusion: Sedonas sidehill better than Rovers with the same foams. No chance last week, but progressed yesterday.

Counted three dozen sailboats in the bay from that spot. Could also see the kites at Brenton Park across the water. Big party right there at Castle Hill. It's an amazing place.

Funny I was just looking at Castle Hill Lighthouse today on the map, and thinking of heading over there to check it out, looks like a really good practice spot. I'll let you know how it goes. What's the deal with the chassis? Got a new one yet? That wasn't easy watching your rig take that fall!

Just getting back from vacation and a brand new chassis had delivered. Need to move everything to it tomorrow.

Also broke that dlux servo mount and didn't realize it. Planning to shave a bit more out of that axle this week and custom make a new bracket like yours to get that Savox nice and low.

Did you make it out to the lighthouse? Most likely driving over Jamestown this coming weekend. Thinking about some crawling before the next comp. I know I need it.

Sweet, what chassis did you go with? I did go to the lighthouse, there is a lot of rock over there for sure! Not a bad practice spot, there is a guard at the gate though, told him I was just looking around and he let me right in no prob.

It's all coming together. Had to make custom upper links.

We need to. Ebomb's Viper is working good.

Planning to be on Jamestown on Saturday afternoon. Weather looks right.

RICrawler set a six gate and seven gate course today at Wetherill. 98 deg in Providence, but mid 80's right there on the bay. Heavy fog with sheets of mist coming off the ocean. The crawling was great. Another good afternoon on Jamestown.

Yeah, was a great time. Hope you get the glitching problem figured out, some of those lines needed alot more control than your rig wanted to give you. There should still be quite a few challenging gates to find, I'll be back for sure! Any more pics?

Worked it out this morning. That Savox aluminum servo case just did not like being surrounded by all that metal + the HH motor. Took the Hitec 7950TH off the Losi, installed, and problem solved. All smooth again. Installed the Savox in the Sporty - runs fine among all that plastic.

Also softer springs, added more chassis spacers at link/shock connection points, and adjusted the throttle dead zone as discussed. Made some link adjustments as well. Was a good "shake down" yesterday before this weekends BC comp.

Couple more pics as requested. Have a good week.

Went back for some practice today, it is incredible how much traction you get on this rock. The lines you can pull off are ridiculous, it's just too much fun. Definitely one of my favorite spots ever! Tried to get some video but couldn't get the camera to work, next time I guess.
