Pro Line AX10 Tuber Crash Test

Hey everyone, Got my hands on another Tuber. Proline made from a newer material. I was told see if you can break it. I thought, he he I always break stuff this is no problem. I must say these are tuff and prooved me wrong.

Few things I encountered while doing this one. I had switched my skid plate with a East End Machining Reverse riangulation on and it raised the tranny up to where my spur rubbed bad. Actually had to cut a hole to make room cause i am not ditching my new skid.
So when these are available keep this in mind when choosing aftermarket skids.

I hate wiring and these will entail a bit of that. I made my motor connection with a deans between it. That way when you pull the cage from the chassis you can disconnect it from the motor.

My battery mounting here sucks, I left parts at the shop and had to make do.

I was only able to break the front stinger.

I purposly drove off a 5 foot ledge onto concrete and nothing broke, just pulled the upper cage from the lower in this spot. I just had to snap it back in.

I also drove it off the 5 foot wall in reverse to give the back a good shot and the back did the same of the front and nothing broke.

I was surpised I only broke the front stinger considering I was putting this through things I would say 99% of people would not even think of doing.

I also held the tuber upside down over my driveway and slammed it straight on its lid with a good force and it did not do anything but bust me electrics out of it and cracked my receiver case. :ror:

This is going to be a great inexpensive way for people get into a tuber. They are going to be durable, and easy for a person to convert. Just an all around great upgrade to an AX10 "thumbsup"

Looks like another durable quality product Proline has put out there. Glad you had fun bashing it:ror: looks like it could even survive my six year olds abuse. He enjoys watching me cringe as he scratches powder coating of my edge chassis.

Cory, does this tuber come with body pannels or is it designed to work with any parts of already available bodies?

It does not have any panels, but I know they were workong ona lexan front sides and back. I am not sure if that will end up happening or not.

Thank you for this post, very nice to see it put through the ringer. I was very curious how this item might hold up to normal use, now we see it will also survive abuse (accidental, or not so accidental)....:-P

looks like a bigger johnny knoxville!

what was temp when you were smashing?
im guessing comfortable seeing a t shirt.
wonder how the cold temps will affect the material?

Very nice looking product. Maybe they can "tie" the stinger in somehow to give it more support. Also, one fix for it popping apart, would to just drill a small hole and insert a body clip "thumbsup"

I know my son is sitting here drooling, while looking at it. So he wants one bad

This is no Tease Proline has vested alot of time and money in the tooling for this. It's just taking a little longer to make sure its made of a material that will last. I really feel they nailed it. We should see some pricing soon.

They were going to barb the pin, My feelings were, if the joint is able to seperate upon a hard impact the force is released there. If it does not seperate then there is a chance of another spot just breaking. Keep in mind when these came apart it was from a 5 foot drop. Any 1-2 foot drops and roll overs nothing happened at all.

a69baldone 11-27-2008 09:42 PM

I guess its time to post some thing for sale.
Any body to fit?
