Best wishes for a full and speedy recovery. Set up some web cams to watch what is going on in the shop while you're at home getting healed just so that the employees don't forget that you can still see them!

FWIW, I had L5 S1 fused in 2001, best thing I did to R&R a degenerated disc that was bone to bone pinching the nerve. Stretching when your start rehab is the best thing you can do to get back at it. Good luck man!
