I like it. Alot. But, yeah, the front doen't quite look... finished, I guess. Maybe try a front like on your 1:18 tuber? |
Thanks for the pics Danny "thumbsup" We both agreed and extending it some out front. We are trying to incorperate as much adjustability as we can. How do you all feel on having an all aluminum belly pan that can drop off the tuber upper to be able to access the tranny. With the new axial scorpion being out we are looking at offering these for the Pede, R2 and the Scorpion I really like the idea of an all tuber with a tranny skid plate that is the same size and we just have them drilled for each type of tranny. Like this with an R2 http://img250.imageshack.us/img250/2...rbottomqy8.jpg |
1 Attachment(s) The belly pan is a great plan. Easy access to the tranny and motor would be a great feature. The chassis pictured looks really good . Like you stated, the front needs a little work though. I think that's a great start. The Karnivore is a great looking rig too. It wouldn't necessarily need to use the Hummer front clip though. Just so long as the rest of the chassis had a similar look you could do something else with the front end. Also, I'd suggest taking some cues from hot rods. I like this pink buggy how it has a chopped hot rod look to the windshield area. |
I love the look. Will there be an option for a blank trans plate or an option for the stealth b4/t4 trans? |
I like the idea of the belly pan, But Not in alum. IMO It too soft and gouges very easy. It be little more But I would use stainless steel, It takes alot to gouge stainless. |
A 1.9 sized tuber would be cool. Other than that I'd just like to see a scale looking tuber, somthing based off a recognizable 1:1. |
I want a one but can't drop $100+ on a tuber. I don't have the time I'd like to build one myself, since its my last year in high school. |
What about more 1/6 scale chassis. With tranny mounts for the E-Maxx tranny. I think That would be really cool. For bodies like the New Bright H2 Hummer. Or the same type of look in a chassis in 1.9 sized, 1/10 sized and 1/6 sized. Just my opinion. Krystopher |
I know there were some threads regarding a tube chassis meeting height specs when using a belly pan, and some made mention that only the tube would be measured, and not include the pan if the tubing did not extend all the way into it. Is this still the case? |

Here's a good discussion on it: Tuber rules We didn't get an official word on it though. |
Looks good, gives me the impression of a moon buggy type though, which to me means it's more suited to shorter WB's. Maybe if you made 2 different versions...2.2 scale and also a larger super version. Not sure of any of the comp rules your trying to stay within though...I have never even read them. I wouldn't use aluminum for the skid. I feel even 7075 would be too soft and easily gouged. I'd use acetal and countersink all the mounting holes. What length shocks are on that rig in the pics? |

IMO I tend to drool over the simple curvy rigs. Such as Kamikaze Customs "thumbsup" or Gimbal type tube chassis. I like the tranny plate idea. |

In my shop, they are legal. ;-) |
just to be safe I'll make sure that there is some tube below to keep it in the legal range of the rules. offroader5 they are just regular ole Tmaxx shocks |
looks great. like the look also. |
|
I made an aluminum skid once. It was like a rock magnet and would gouge and stick to pointy rocks like you wouldn't believe. I would like to see a delrin skid with the holes for the popular transmissions. It needs to be thick enough that we can countersink the holes we use. |
If you make a Rubi tuber for sale count me in for a couple!"thumbsup" |
