Bodieless Panel Requirements

It says in the bodieless requirements : 2.1.3.1 Bodiless vehicles must have solid hood panel , solid roof panel , and a minium of 2 solid side panels.
Does this rule appply to 1.9 class as well ?

YES

2.1.3.1 refers to all bodieless vehicles regardless of class (Super, 2.2, and 1.9)

2.1.3.1 - Bodiless vehicles must have solid hood panel, solid roof panel and a minimum of 2
solid side-panels. Hood, roof and side panels must be separate pieces of solid material
installed onto the bodiless vehicle frame. All body panels are to be separate pieces from the
complete structural frame. Body panels must be solidly installed in a manner that is
representative of a 1:1 vehicle. It is required that at least one point of the side-panel must
reach to a span of 1” tall or more & at least one other point of the side-panel must reach to a
span of 2.5” long or more. In the case of a Unibody vehicle (See sec. 2.1.3.2 for Unibody
definition). The Unibody is considered to have all body panels needed without having to add
separate body panels as long as the hood, roof & side panel areas meet all the general panel &
side-panel size requirements above.

On my upcoming bodiless chassis, I was planning a single piece for the hood and roof since I wanted to incorporate a "windshield" between the roof and hood lines. So this would be illegal, right?

OK , so this rig would not be legal because it only has one side panel , is that correct.

If you have one on the other side you would have 2 side panels!!! DUH

Technically YES, but I personally would let it go since you are not violating the spirit of the rule

A stratically place break in the material may be the best solution

By "spirit" I mean the rule was written to keep tubers looking some what realistic, and by adding more realism (windshield) to your truck you are penalized, and that was not the intention of the rule

requirements may be revised.

So any word on any possible changes to the bodiless rules for 09'
