Technically Yes...........nothing in the "Official Rules" covers it, but I do think it may violate the spirit of the rules. I would ask your local event organizers Kaetwo and Pinch about it to get their thoughts. I think if they weren't taller than AT's I might say OK

I would say no, Rules state: "Limited to 2.2 inch rims and tires or smaller " To me this says the tires have to be a 2.2" tire. Frankenseining non 2.2" tires to fit a 2.2" rim is not a 2.2" tire.

Come on Pinch its not going to hurt anything, or are you scared of what NaZ-T or Roar might come up with. I say we should be able to do this and you know as well as i do i'm not capeable to do this myself so that means whatever they do they would need to make a set for me.

I'd think that if you use 2.2 sidewalls and stay within the max diameter they'd be legal. Kinda like some cut n' shut tires.

Maybe, just a suggestion, instead of judging the 2.2 class by rim size, it should be done by the O.D. of the tire. Sure you could use any rim you wanted, but you would be limited to how tall the tire is. That would totally end this problem. Otherwise it is only a matter of time before a company makes a tire that fits a 2.2 rim that is really tall, then what to you do, it's a manufactured tire. At least with a tire height limitation, there is no arguing it.

Well according to my calculations they would still be shorter than All Ts so I don't see why people cant mod their tires to get differemt tread patterns and if you can't cut down a set of maxx tires does that mean you can't mod tires at all? Pinch: our rules state rims and tires but RC Crawlers state just wheel size (wheel meens rim in my book). I don't really care I'm not going to spend that much time cuttin up tires when I can just by a set that will probably work better anyway. Last edited by NaZ-T; 10-05-2005 at 02:35 PM.

These are all good questions, and I will bring it up before the Rules Committee. Its call 2.2 Class not cut down to 2.2 class, so my guess is they will say tires that are manufactured as 2.2 are legal tires. Before you start cutting up rubber I would wait for a decision.

I think if you can't cut your tires down you shouldn't be allowed to mod them at all. production tires only no cutting period.........

with all the rules( no matter what class) we should just leave all the trucks stock and roll with them that way. even if someone would make a truck that you could drive rightside up or upside down, there would be a rule against it cause noone could call it for reverse since they didn't know which way it was going and you couldn't get called for a rollover either
