The 1.9 class is limited to a 2 cell lipo.

2.2 and super have no voltage limit.

That only applies to the 1.9 class.

Default 1.9 batt ????

Is there a good reason that they put cell limit on the 1.9 class ????? What difference does it make we are not racing

I think to try and keep it closer to a spec class. Anything more than 8.4v really isn't necessary with these little guys anyway.

I think this rule needs to be dropped...I have been doing some experimenting and have found that if you gear down and run a 3s lipo the motor and esc run alot cooler...Just like JRH always says gear down volt up It crawls better and still has about the same top end

x3 higher voltage and lower gearing draws less amps and is easier on the overall electronics system.

While were at it...lets add in Dig and dual motor trucks.

The point of 1.9 is to find a good driver given very strict rules to make it more spec.

I don't see you point This is changing nothing but batt voltage to save motors and electronics from meltdown..

I'm using 2S on a tiny B1R ESC and HH Mini without any heat problems.

I think the point is that the Losi for example comes with a 7.2v battery and if everyone was running 11.1v Lipos it would be one more thing someone would feel like they had to upgrade. Of course with that said locally here this class is far from a spec class. $35 - $120 chassis', upgraded lockers, shocks, CVD's, tires, $100 wheels, $100 ESC's, new motors, etc. etc. are the norm and anything close to stock performs like crap for the most part.

I have not had any heat issues either. I was running a 2S lipo, HH Mini Torquemaster and stock ESC without heat issues. Of course now I'm running an FXR.

All I see out of there being a 2cell limit is it makes you have to buy a expensive brushless setup to keep up with wheel speed.

Ok so now I have to get a $100 esc and a $50 motor..So I might as well splurge another $30 to $50 on a good 3s lipo
